Did you know plumbing supply lines have a lifespan? Unfortunately, some owners have found out this the hard way when their supply lines burst and flooded their (and their neighbors) unit leading to costly repair bills.
Some plumbing professionals and supply line manufacturers suggest changing your supply lines every 5 years (or sooner in some cases). Even if your condo has copper supply lines, they have rubber cone washers that can, and do, fail.
We urge you to check all of your supply lines to make sure you don't have any surprises. Be sure to check your washing machine hoses first as they are the ones most likely to fail since they are under constant pressure!
While you are at it, make sure you have liability insurance (which is required by our documents) which will protect you in case another condo is damaged by something like a water failure in your condo. This happens more often then you might think, and can be quite costly!
