Take Care in What Goes Down The Drain!

Please take care to not flush items in toilets like so-called "flushable wipes", tampons, sanitary napkins, and diapers. These items can clog our drains which is costly to fix. Despite what manufacturers advertise, the new sanitary wipes take a long time to disinegrate, and end up clogging our pipes.

Please also take care to not pour grease down the drain. The Association made a couple of repairs to water pipes under buildings a few years back. While these repairs were due to cracks in the pipes from foundation shifting, it’s important to note that in addition to the cracks, one of the pipes was also severely clogged from grease that had been poured down the drain. As you can see from this photo, the grease had compacted in the pipes making the exit hole 1/3 of the regular size. Please remember to dispose of cooking grease in a sealed jar to keep your drains flowing properly and prevent the expense of having it cleaned out.
